This house.....you probably saw it......is for sale in Appalachacola for the low, low, low price of 469,900. I was in shock people....I am from the midwest!
Yep, vacation at Cape San Blas, Florida was relaxing, beautiful, fun, amazing, incredible.....you get the idea. So, here is a picture from the Cape this year. Pretty... very pretty. St. Joseph's State Park at the tip of the Cape really does have the most amazing beach ever, ever! So, instead of more beach pictures...I have cottage pictures....I tried hard to get some good pics of some adorable cottages....Keep in mind that I had a impatient husband and a 8 and 6 year old who had finished their ice cream and wanted to get back to the beach, Mom!!!! So, here goes....The first, well I guess I only have three today.....the first was in Appalachacola (hope I spelled that right!) It is adorable and I could sit on that front porch forever...not by or on the beach, but I could still sit here forever....

Ok, now I am not from the south and don't care for sweetend ice tea, but .....if I could sit on this porch....I might change my mind.....Now....wait for it again....the front porch is even better.......

Now folks keep in mind that this gulf front beach house is three stories....this is the part you can see while standing on the beach looking over the dunes! Um hummm... I will try and post more of this beauty later....
Tomorrow....I have some pictures of my favorite appalachacola store and the fun piece I brought home from there this year. I go every year we visit and bring back something for our home to remember our trip..... well....who could forget.....so come back!
Despite all the fun, frollicing in the sand and waves and awsome memories......it is good to be home at Big Creek Cottage.

I am trying really hard to work today, but my thoughts keep going back to here....... can you blame me. This is a pic of the beach in front of our rental cottage in 2006. If you look closely across the water that it Cape San Blas....where we are going this year. The tip of the Cape is a protected National Park.....yes, incredible. My hubby and I wan't so badly to go to the point but it is 7 miles or something and most folks only get there by boat......I bet it is gorgeous....Enjoy. I am not sure if you can click on this pic to enlarge....still trying to figure out the new type pad process.......

Wow, it has been so long since I have posted that type pad has changed everything.....be patient. Thanks to all of you who loved my hanging window......my husband is awsome and quite handy..... I will try and post more pics of it once the flowers really take off..... So many projects have been going on....I am afraid we bit off more than we could chew. I hope to get more pics of those up this weekend....my son's room...painted, camo! Yep and he was given a bunk bed!!!! How exciting for a six year old! We almost have completed the pond in our back yard. Just need to finish up the landscapping part. I will try to post what we have done so far. When we return from vacation, I am going to buy some gold fish and try not to kill them!!!! Fun.
So, the big news. We are off to the Beach next week. We can hardly stand it. If today wasn't the last day of school......we wouldn't be able to stand it..... I am posting some pics of our trip to the panhandle in 2006. We loved it. We stayed at a beach house at Mexico Beach and fell in love....... We were not able to return last year because we had just purchased Big Creek Cottage and put our "vacation " money into fixing the in ground pool. So, this year we are going back. To Cape San Blas this time. the whole area is unbleilable......not touristy like some of the other areas in Flordia....just beautiful..... My husband always takes his computer and I will post pics while we are there if possbile, if not....look out when we return. The pic above is of my hubby and the wee people at the pier at Mexico Beach. This is when we first drove into town and fell in love.
The next pic is the view out the slidding doors of our beach cottage. The pretty unbrella is ours and as you can see....not another sole on "our" stretch of beach....which is how is was during the week. Weekends picked up but was certainly not crowded....
Can you beleive how amazingly beautiful that view was.....I can still see it in my mind..... Now here is why we will keep going back. My last pic of the day is the wee people and those smiles..... we had so much fun.... Can't beat vacation at the BEACH....(I think the smallest of the wee people was giving me his super model pose!!!!! )

How adorable is this? Yep. My darling husband whipped this up for me a couple of years ago. A hanging window box. At our former house....check out some pics on the sidebar....it hung on our front porch.....here....we have this lovely tree that "hangs" over the front steps to the house. I love it . In a few weeks the flowers will be trailing over the sides and through the "window".......

Fairly easy construction. We purchased small window boxes (plastic and rectangular) at Wal-Mart and he built a frame that the plastic window boxes fit into ....I just plant the flowers and lower the box onto the frame.....The "window" is part of the base frame and chains were attached to the top for securing to the tree, in this case. I prefer mine white, but this would look great in a bright, fabulous color......

How cute is this willow chair all painted in the most perfect green ever? I am not sure that the green really comes through in the picture. Just love this. Once this office gets painted and organized. Yep, still haven't done that.....someday soon..... I still haven't decided on a color for the room. I love red, but this red is too bright for me, particularly since I work so much from this room and spend so much time in here. I have so many red accents and lime green and don't forget the black....Love the black and white toile curtains in here. So many projects and so little time...
