Maggie, doodle bug....we love her dearly. She is 16 and can't hear, can't see well and is feeling the pains of arthritis. But she is still my dearest friend and companion. She is lying next to me now as I type. Always there....always full of love. Isn't she sweet.

She's finally up. Originally, I had hoped to hang her in the entry way, but the front door was too close for comfort. Plan B.....my office. She looks lovely and brightens the room beyond belief. I am looking for the perfect chandy shades to adorn her. Because of the pretty brown crystals, I am thinking of burlap or leopard...help me out.....which do you think? I am also considering trying out only 5 shades and leaving the other 5 bulbs without. What do you think?

Our Halloween was ....well...filled with sugar! Yours? Thank you for all the good wishes...I already feel better! Today is our 14th Wedding anniversary!!! I can't even believe that we have been married for 14 years....I am the luckiest girl in the world...I love him more than toile, white ironstone and chocolate...that is how fantastic he is......!!!! Today I am linking to Kimba's DIY party and Melissa at the Inspired Room's After Party......I first have a confession to make...I didn't get my dresser painted. Not for lack of trying, but due to an unexpected out of town business trip. But, I was able to get in a before and after.....DIY project despite my trip.
Here is the before
My beautiful new/old oak chairs that I found during my area's fall festival/drive/yard sale/craft fair extravaganza!!!! Two oak chairs, in good repair, for $30. Shazam! The fabric, as you can see, is pretty, but not fitting with our home. So I decided to add a bit of fabric from my stash. (the pictures don't do it justice) None-the-less...here is the after.
I love the way these turned out and wish the pictures were better. It was just what the chairs needed....but was a bit more than I had anticipated. The previous fabric covered a piece of wood that had been cut to fit the hole and quarter round molding had been attached to the bottom of the chair to help hold the piece in. The oak was so hard that my staple gun did not penetrate...luckily I had some upolstery tacks that did the job! Viola.
I hope this DIY didn't disappoint...I am working on the dresser on Thursday....striping and sanding ....I hope to begin painting on Saturday.....I will shoot for Kimba's next DIY.....cross your fingers for me...remember, I am a procrastinator! (and proud of it!)
You just can't beat a pumpkin that is beautifully unique and yet will last year after year....right? Right. Talking about being green....reuse, reuse, reuse. So, this year, other than our family's pumpkin carving contest, our pumpkins will be beautiful reusable pumpkins. One of my favorite bloggers, Ramona , peeked my interest in these "green" beauties.....check out her etsy store (left sidebar)....yep, burlap...who doesn't love burlap? So, it began with Ramona posting her burlap beauties and then I found some chenile beauties at a local, favorite shop.......
dont you just love the textures...oh, most fabric pumpkins DONT come with army men....sorry. Now, I am off to find the red velet pumpkin that I saw somewhere in blogland...Ramona, was that you?
